NHL defenseman who won a Stanley Cup Championship with the Boston Bruins in
2011. BEFORE FAME Drafted by the junior Ontario Hockey League in 2003, he spent
four seasons with the Sudbury Wolves, before being drafted by the Boston Bruins.
He moved up the team's ranks during the 2013 NHL Playoffs with the Bruins, as he
was assigned to slow down the opponents' top forwards. FAMILY LIFE He was born

Dianne and Mark McQuaid, Adam grew up in the heart of Cornwall with his younger
brother Chad and sister Michelle. He attended all three Cornwall schools and
graduated from Bluefield High School in Hampshire. Having been involved with
Cornwall athletic programs since early childhood, Adam was a member of the North
River Flames and Cornwall Thunder hockey clubs before moving on to the Sudbury
Wolves, Columbus Blue Jackets, Providence Bruins and finally the Boston Bruins.
Adam has won numerous awards throughout his short career. Below is a list of

his rookie year is quite an accomplishment. The Boston Bruins celebrated a 4-0
victory over the Vancouver Canucks on June 15, 2011 to claim their sixth Stanley
Cup Championship. Adam brought the Stanley Cup to Cornwall on August 28, 2011, a
day which will be forever known as Adam McQuaid Day. Since then, the humble and
modest twenty-five year old continues to support and give back to the community
he grew up in. He has also since signed a three year contract extension with the
Boston Bruins, securing him until the end of the 2014-15 season.22.
